Iapetus Newsletter June 2012

Dear friends,

Welcome to our second bulletin featuring news highlights from artists within the Iapetus / Unsung Records family, and it’s a bumper crop this month:

* Adrian Benavides: 2 x Releases inc. Free Single
* Lee Fletcher (feat. Markus Reuter & Lisa Fletcher): Pre-release + Exclusives
* Tuner: Ltd. Free Album
* CENTROZOON: Radio Show + Live Album
* The Crimson ProjeKct: US Tour

First up this month we’re thrilled to announce the official release of ‘Same Time Next Life’, the solo album by Adrian Benavides (of the Unsung Productions team). Featuring and co-produced / co-written by Markus Reuter, mastered by Lee Fletcher, with guest performance spots by Pat Mastelotto and Alex Dowerk amongst others, the album is already garnering critical acclaim. You can order directly from our Bandcamp store: http://iapetus-store.com/album/same-time-next-life

But that’s not all – Adrian has launched a FREE DOWNLOAD SINGLE of ‘Exterior Of The Heart’ alongside new track ‘Reflection II (Cutting Room)’ and a remix of the album track ‘ Impulse Response’. You can grab this immediately via: http://iapetus-store.com/album/exterior-of-a-heart

Last month we announced the PledgeMusic project for ‘Faith In Worthless Things’, the forthcoming album by Unsung Productions producer & artist Lee Fletcher featuring touch guitarist Markus Reuter and vocalist Lisa Fletcher (who has previously recorded with Tuner) amongst others. The campaign got off to a great start, with 138% of the initial target achieved in just over one month!

There are still 40 days left to secure rare / exclusive offers, including a special music-coaching lesson with Markus, heavily discounted professional audio mastering by Lee, or session vocals performed by Lisa. These and a variety of CD bundles will only be available via the PledgeMusic site, with every order directly helping us facilitate the release. http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/faith-in-worthless-things

In our second giveaway of the month we’re happy to announce that the 2007 album ‘Pole’ by Tuner (Markus’s duo project with Pat Mastelotto) will be available as a FREE DOWNLOAD for 30 days! The album was selected as one of US magazine Modern Drummer’s ’50 All-time Prog Classics”. Visit the Tuner / Iapetus Bandcamp page for details: http://iapetus-store.com/album/pole

‘Fire’ the forthcoming live CENTROZOON album (recorded ahead of last year’s ‘We Will Tongue You’) is being broadcast in its entirety on July 1st by online radio station http://www.welle303.com. Band members Bernhard Wöstheinrich and Tobias Reber (but not Markus, who is currently on tour with The Crimson ProjeKct) will also be making themselves available for questioning via the station’s chat room. The broadcast will be at 8pm CEST.

Prior supporters of the band’s crowdsourcing campaign ‘Bonestarter’ (offering various deluxe ‘Boner’ CD bundles) received the album as a free “thank you”. The general release will occur on July 14th via the band’s website: http://www.centrozoon.de, with all proceeds going towards the still ongoing campaign…

As mentioned above touch guitarist Markus Reuter is currently touring the US with The Crimson ProjeKct – an amalgamation of Stick Men (Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Markus Reuter) and The Adrian Belew Power Trio (Adrian Belew, Julie Slick, Tobias Ralph), performing an all King Crimson set.
